Fit Check

Before washing, test the fit of your sheet on the mattress it is intended for.

Make sure you have the correct size sheet for you mattress and you are happy with the fit.

Having issues with your fit? Check out our trouble shooting videos below or reach out to us for help.

Prewash Your Sheets

Why Pre-Wash?

Pre-washing all baby clothes & bedding prior to first use is recommended to remove any potential contaminants from manufacturing or handling.

Increase Absorbency

Your sheets become immediately more absorbant after the first wash - just hold the fabric softer please!

Fabric softener coats the surface of the fabric and reduces absorbency of the cotton.

How To Wash

  • Wash with similar colours, up to 60 degrees
  • Use the correct amount of quality detergent
  • Add an extra rinse to remove excess detergent that may irritate newborn skin
  • Avoid fabric softener
  • Line dry or delicate tumble dry

All cots sold in Australia must meet the new Consumer Goods (Infant Products) Information Standard 2024.

To check if your cot is compliant, look for the safety sticker that lists the standard it was built under.

Safe Mattress

A safe mattress is flat, firm and the correct size for your cot.

Firmness must be tested to AS/NZS 8811.1:2013 — this is now referenced inside Australia's mandatory infant sleep safety standard. Look for products that go further and meet the new AS 5407.1 and AS 5407.2 Enhanced Firmness standards.

ULTIMATE PARENT HACK

Layer Your Sheets

Always make the bed with at least 2 sheets. Just pop one sheet straight over the top of the other.

You'll thank us at 2am.

Use a long hot wash

Stubborn Stains

Newborn number 2's can be tricky to remove.

Skip the stain removal sprays & soaking.

Instead wash them on the longest cycle, at 60 degrees & with a healthy dose of detergent. They's wash even better if your load is full.

How do I wash them?

Our sheets can be washed with your regular laundry with the following tips in mind.

  • Wash prior to use with similar colours
  • Machine wash at or below 60˚C /140˚F
  • Line dry in shade or tumble dry on low heat/delicate setting
  • Do not iron
  • Do not dry-clean
  • Do not bleach or use stain removal sprays
  • Do not soak
  • Do not pierce fabric

Little Human® Linens sheets are designed to make your life easier. We have worked hard to source the best polyurethane laminate that can that can withstand frequent washing, while remaining waterproof and beautifully soft.

Direct exposure to very high heat, harsh chemicals or sharp objects will damage the polyurethane laminate resulting in de-lamination or hardening of the PUL and shrinkage of the cotton.

We use organic cotton and organic dyes, as a result some fading of dark colours is considered normal.

Can I put them in the dryer?

Yes — on a low heat only.

Our sheets are designed for real life, so they’re completely tumble dryer friendly on a delicate/gentle/low heat setting.

Just skip high heat in the dryer — that’s what can damage the waterproof layer.

Hot wash? Totally fin up to 60 degrees.
Hot dryer? No thanks - keep it low/gentle/cool.
